Oh no! We've elected a left-wing Labour Government

What could they possibly do?

Oh no! We've elected a left-wing Labour Government that will increase tax and immigration to record levels while mandating the teaching of LGBT ideology in schools.

Like all left-wing Labour Goverments, they won't bother to control the national debt, which is probably going to get close to 100% of GDP. They might even be so fiscally irresponsible that they'll cause a bond market crisis and force the Bank of England to step in to intervene. Even if the economy is crying out for employees, they'll lavish taxpayers' money on those who won't find work, and the number of people on out-of-work benefits will soar.

I bet you this left-wing Labour Government will completely lose control of our borders, with record numbers of illegal migrants crossing the Channel every year - and then they'll say 'human rights' mean they can't do anything about it. The police won't be able to stop people blocking the highway and when people vandalise public or private property in the name of protest they'll get off scot-free, all because they won't reverse the Supreme Court 'Ziegler' ruling of 2021.

They'll regulate like mad, imposing ever more regulation on business, large and small, and be so scared of the NIMBY environmentalist lobby that house building will utterly fail to keep up with demand. The burden of regulation will increase relentlessly, and ministers will stand by while quangos impose ever more costly burdens on our financial sector and small businesses. They'll introduce a 'sugar tax' for consumers.

Universities will be told to discriminate against private schools in admissions and that their research funding will be awarded based on 'EDI metrics' and 'culture' rather than excellence. Meanwhile both they and museums will embark on a 'decolonisation' drive, promoting divisive identity politics and ideologically driven narratives of history. Public bodies will actively encourage this.

Under this new left-wing Labour Government, the police will kneel to BLM protestors and go round to people's houses if the see someone saying on social media that a man can't become a woman. Silent prayer will be criminalised. And then, because the police are so busy focusing on online 'hate crime', they won't bother to attend burglaries or other ordinary crimes. This left-wing Labour Government will be so soft on law and order that they’ll let the criminal justice system collapse, with criminals waiting for two years or more to be tried. People guilty of 20, 30 or even 40 offences will be routinely spared gaol because the gaols are full - and I bet you they even start releasing violent prisoners, also.

Under the coming left-wing Labour Government, public bodies will spend millions on diversity networks, wrongfully dismiss staff who express dissenting opinions, and obsess ever more over diversity plans and 'targets' for women, ethnic minorities and other groups. They'll give tens of millions of pounds to left-wing charities who campaign for open borders and promote divisive identity politics.

If we're really out of luck, this new left-wing Labour Government may even be so obsessed with state control that they'll plan to introduce a home-school register, ban smoking, create a state-controlled register of consensual adult relationships in universities and even create a football regulator.

Oh, it's going to be so terrible living under this left-wing Labour Government.
