Blogging again and next Christmas Quiz

After an almost three year hiatus while I was working in government, I am blogging again on books, politics and miscellany. I'll be aiming to post at least once a week: if you want to receive an email telling you when a new post is up, you can sign up using the box on the right (or below, if reading by mobile).

In other news, with over two months to spare I've completed this year's Christmas Quiz. Christmas Quiz XVII will be cryptic, with a theme of science and rounds of Astronomy, Chemistry, Mathematics, Anatomy and Medicine, Geology and Palaeontology, Computer Science, Biology and Ecology, Physics and Engineering, Science Fiction, and False Science. As always, it will be available from the first day of Advent and will run to Epiphany.
